LYNDHURST -- Earlier Friday, police confirmed a gas leak near the intersection of Mayfield and Brainard roads.

Dominion East Ohio spokesman Neil Durbin confirmed to Channel 3 News that crews arrived and, as of 2:30 p.m., have shut off the leak.

Durbin said a water worker struck the 4-inch plastic gas line and ruptured it.

Durbin said the area around the entire intersection was evacuated as a precaution but that all utilities have been restored.
