Cops: Trio left heroin in hotel room

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Hotel workers called police after they found 7.6 ounces of heroin inside a room that had just been vacated.

Three men had booked a room at a hotel on Old Gate Lane in Milford and then checked out on June 27. A cleaning crew was inside the room when they found the heroin and called police.

Police uncovered 3.5 ounces of heroin and 508 packaged wax folds of heroin. The street value of that amount comes to $50,000.

While officers were on the scene, the three men returned and asked to rent the same room. That's when they were arrested by police.

Curran Lake, 20, and David Jefferson, 19, were both charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy. Police determined Lake was violating the conditions of his parole.

Sean Reid, 26, was charged with conspiracy to possess narcotics, conspiracy to possess narcotics with intent to sell, conspiracy to operate a drug factory and conspiracy to possess drug paraphernalia.

All three were held on $250,000 bonds.
